ANNAKLeather goods that combine tradition and innovation created by long-established belt manufacturers

The design incorporates the air of the times while continuing the outstanding craftsmanship of Japan.
The company behind ANNAK is Mitake Sangyo Co., which was founded in 1925 in Motoasakusa, Tokyo. It is the oldest belt maker still in existence in Japan, and it started out with the dexterous Sensei making kiseru (smoke tubes), a tool for smoking shredded tobacco. During the war, he taught the manufacture of gun holders and holsters at military factories, and it was only after the war that he began producing belts in earnest. In addition to Daddy, which specializes in men's belts, the brand now has 2 original brands, ANNAK, which debuted in 2001. The brand name is coined by reversing the spelling of "KANNA," and the lineup is centered on unisex bags, wallets and other leather accessories. And Daddy and others are sticking to craftsmanship and craftsmanship.

ANNAK is also active in the development of original leather, as it is based on manufacturing that takes advantage of the natural texture of leather. Take, for example, the washed leather that has become synonymous with the brand. The leather gets hard when washed normally, but its unique oil formula keeps it from getting hard when washed, and an extra step gives it a softer texture. The softness comes through on the surface, creating a distinct taste and mellow feel from other leather. Another notable feature is that leather is also made by human hands over time, rather than relying on machines. This is made possible by our close relationship with tanners, which has been in business for 97 years. Incidentally, the leather is mainly sourced from Tochigi Leather.

Basically, ANNAK is a unisex brand, but in recent years it has also been focusing on pop colors with women in mind. It is said that the exquisite color development created with thorough attention has been well received by a wide range of generations. In addition, there are limited seasonal colors, so there are many variations, and it is nice to be able to select the color and style you like.

Walnut buttons are made from the same leather as the body, and lining techniques are used to reinforce and texture the leather. Despite their simple looks, ANNAK's items are sprinkled with craftsmanship here and there. One of the most eye-catching features is the smooth texture of the back despite the single leather. Leather generally has a different texture on the front and back, with rough, fluffy undersides. Although this is what leather is supposed to look like, it has the disadvantage that the fluff sticks to the package, which limits what you can put in. Putting a lining is the quickest way, but if you do, it will deteriorate from the fabric and you won't be able to use it regularly for a long time. On the other hand, if the back has the same smooth texture as the surface, you can enjoy the look of the leather to its fullest without the fluff sticking to the package.

Rather, women tend to focus on looks, like design and color, so ANNAK's particular attention to detail may not be the deciding factor when buying. But the amount of craftsmanship employed also comes down to comfort, so when you're actually using it, you realize how great it is. That's what makes ANNAK so appealing and so popular.

Despite its compact size, it is also very comfortable to use.

Sakoche is the perfect size for carrying a mini wallet and smartphone. The vertical shape and clean color give it a smart look. The main storage section is inflated so that you can store more stuff than you think, and the divider allows for neat storage. The back of domestic tanned leather is painted with pigment to create a smooth texture like the surface, which is also unique to ANNAK.
Other useful features to improve usability include a card pocket on the back, which is useful for holding traffic IC cards, and the length can be adjusted with a knot of tanned leather strap. It is also recommended to use it as a pouch by putting in frequently used accessories such as lips.
