Antibacterial Measures

Antimicrobial care is no longer just infection prevention, but also personal grooming. This time, Hiroaki Mihashi, an expert and colorist in the Planning Department of Columbus, Japan's top manufacturer of care products, gave an easy-to-understand lecture on the antibacterial properties of bags. Based on a bag, but applicable to a wide range of items.

Interview in 2022

Step1 Before Care

Brush the entire bag to remove dirt and dust. Put your hands inside the bag and press firmly. Brush the seams carefully too.

Step 2 Apply the cleaner

If stains do not come off, apply a cleaner to a soft cloth (such as a towel) and apply to the entire bag to remove them.

Step 3 Apply leather and antibacterial cream

Apply leather/antibacterial cream (Leather Cure Leather/Antibacterial Cream) all over. For larger items (which can also be applied to boots), it's easier to use a sponge rather than cloth. Can be finished evenly. Before applying the leather/antibacterial cream, try to make sure there are no stains in an inconspicuous area (Inside, bottom, etc.).

Step 4 Add details

The corners of the bag rub easily, so apply leather/antibacterial cream (Leather Cure leather/antibacterial cream) and finish carefully. After applying the leather/antibacterial cream, if the skin color darkens and spots appear, leave it for 10 to 30 minutes and see how it goes. Remove any oil stains with cream as soon as possible.
[Attention!] Be careful not to scratch the surface of the leather as it will turn black.

Step 5 Wipe dry and spray waterproof

Dry thoroughly and wipe dry with a soft cloth (such as a towel).
Apply waterproof spray (AMeDAS 420 water repellent spray). Spray evenly, 15 ~ 20 cm apart. Always ventilate when applying waterproof spray. Try to avoid spots in an inconspicuous area (Inside, bottom, etc.) before spraying. It's better to have antibacterial care once a week for items you use every day and once a month for items you don't use often.
